Lee Cronin grew up in a seaside village in Ireland. He considered being a Fisherman, a Clown, and a Ghostbuster. By 13 years old, he realized movie-making ticked all three boxes. Fast forward a little, and his supernatural chiller Ghost Train won the Méliès d'Argent for Best European Fantastic Short film. 

Cronin's debut feature film, The Hole In The Ground premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2019 to critical acclaim, and landed him a Saturn Award nomination for Breakthrough Director.

His highly anticipated sophomore feature Evil Dead Rise was released in April 2023 and became a world-wide critical and box office smash-hit.
